about dog behavior......?
I went to a shelter that lets you take a dog home for a few days to see if they are a good fit for your family. I have had a 2yr old cocker spanial mixed dont know what with. He is a great dog leash trained and house broken we have had him 3 days and yesterday he snapped at my son and all he was doing was sitting by him and gentle petting his back. He also growls and barks/ chases the cat we have popped with a paper and he is getting better with the cat. I have till tomorrow to decide rather to keep him I want to but I cant worry about him hurting my kids. My question is if we sat with the kids when they pet him and pop him when he growls could he be trained to be good with the kids or is it that he just isnt use to the kids yet cuz he is fine with me and my husband and he doesnt growl of snap at the kids all the time? Or should I just let him go back and let the shelter know hes not good with kids? sorry so long hope someone who knows alot about dog can help me out thanks.
