Auto repair tool set help?

OK I'm jest starting out in the auto repair field and i need some tools... i know snap on, mac, and craftsman are the top people...

well any way i need a starter kit. i looked on sears (craftsman's main dealer) for some kits but the bundles look like they give you the same dam tool over and over again, and snap on doesn't even have starter kits that i could find at least.

SO were can i find a starter kit with out geting ripped off or paying a mint (i also need a big pro lookin tool box), i know Craig's list is an option...
oh ya and i also get 1/2 off on all (accualy most) snap-on tools from the auto program at my school... and im the best student...lol

You are partially correct. Snap-on, Mac, Matco are all top tool companies. Craftsman is not.

For a big toolbox either of the above mentioned names work. I bought a $6,000 snap on box on ebay that was brand new for $2500. Dont expect to spend less than a few thousand on one.

As for the tools, Snap-on, Mac, all make starter sets. Just ask the dealer. Once again the tools arent going to be cheap. I have been doing this for 12 years now and have over $50,000 invested in hand tools. Dont buy cheap tools as they break and nothing worse than being halfway through a job and needing the tool that just broke. Common tools like ratchets you need a few of. I have 15 3/8" rachets in different lengths and shapes. Tools break, all of them. Some are just built better, and last longer.
