When it comes to open plan living you need to pay special attention to arranging your furniture. Decorating open plan areas is more than just putting everything you own out on display in one big room.

A small number of carefully selected bits of quality furniture – a dining table, a sofa, a coffee table, side tables, and storage units – are preferable to crowding the space with a mis-match of every piece of furniture you have ever owned.
Arrange the furniture so that it is usable; you don’t want to have to re-arrange it every time the room is used.
