For every hunter out there, there’s a room with deer decor just waiting to be designed in their home. Starting out, it might seem like a daunting task to put together a whole room around a deer decor theme. But once you get under way, you will find hundreds of deer decor items on the web or in stores.
The best place to start is to purchase some wallpaper or at the very least, wallpaper border, with a deer theme. You’ll want to hang this on at least one wall in your deer themed room to set the atmosphere for the rest of the decor you’ll be adding. Even if you can’t find deer wall paper, there most certainly is wallpaper with the forest and trees that will offer your room a woodsy feel. Another option might be a wall sized poster-like mural of deer in the woods, which when filling a whole wall, can make a room look as if like it’s right in the outdoors.
Google the Internet for deer home decor and you’ll come up with end tables and coffee tables featuring deer legs (some real, some faux), glass top tables etched with beautiful deer art, or tables with hand-carved deer accents. Perhaps a chandelier created with deer antlers is your taste. Positively unique, this type of lighting would be a certain conversation piece and something not everyone would have. If you have access to the antlers, get enough of them and wire them together in a circle. String some small Christmas-type lights on them and go to your Home Depot and talk with someone there how to wire them directly into the ceiling.
Once you have the primary pieces of deer decor set for your room, you can begin to add some smaller decorations. With little trouble, you should be able to find decorating items to fill those empty spots on tables and walls. How about a framed painting of a forest scene featuring deer, a etched mirror coat rack with a forest scene of deer in the grass or perhaps a wall clock featuring a deer scene. Drape a deer throw over the back of your leather couch or chair for a useful as well as showy addition to the room. And the old standard, there’s always the old standby, of course: a real mounted deer head.
