Ryobi Makita Battery

which tools, drills, is pretty good ryobi? makita?

ok...well... I am a bit worried. A lot of people say ryobi is garbage. I mean is it that bad where it will break down and wont even last 5+ years? I mean I do not mind replacing the battery, but I mean I use tools quite often and was it a mistake getting a ryobi tool?

Or do you think they are decent tools and will last for a long time? I mean I do not care much about power, I just care that it gets the job done and will last a long time.

and experience or any stories? what about makitas?

Ryobi is poor quality. It is not suitable for a high use DIY'er. Makita is a far superior brand. Milwaukee makes good tools as well.

I have had my Makita 14.4 v for nearly 10 years. I had to replace the batteries a couple of years ago. I have been using my Makita 18v every day for the last 5 years. One of the batteries is starting to not hold a charge as well, but I dropped it while still attached to the drill from 30 feet onto a slab. The drill still works great, it will turn a 1-1/2" spade bit through a treated 4x4 and the torque settings still work too.
